Family

Austin is amazing.  He drew this in a few minutes for me.  I LOVE it.  He comes home tonight and soon we will be off.......
to see this fabulous woman!  We are VERY excited for visits with all my family, Scott's parents, and roaming around the big apple.  I wish I could put Joc and Avery in my suitcase and take them..... I haven't left them this long.... I don't think I have ever left them more than a night.....!!!!!  tear.

The other day Rin was looking at Eric's trophey's and asked if we could just make her one, or if you have to earn it?  She said she had seen a magazine that I ordered pinewood derby cars out of for cub scouts. She was thinking I could just make one up for her.  We decided on best singer in the family.

We had a party at the gym that was SO much fun!  Korbi lets us all come play for Beck's b-day and we celebrated Feb. b-days.  Which is me and Beck and Carsten (who was at play practice)!  Eric LOVEs doing flips on all the equipment and we all had so much fun in the foam pit!!!  I couldn't move the next day, getting a little old when it comes to doing superman into the foam.  Actually its the climbing back out that about kills me!!!  Good exercise, WAY more fun the real exercise!

Marinda loves baby showers, she was gone singing in Tricities with the choir, so I took Joc with me.  She was VERY excited and kept telling me that it was her first baby shower ever!  We played the game with the string and guessing the Mom's belly size.  She got right on and won a prize.  Could her smile get any bigger?  NO.

Spoke Too Soon!

Well I never should have said the stuff about being a bad Mom, I left Jocelyn at school for a LONG time!  She was supposed to be picked up for Activity Days and I was in Tricities and my cell was broken and no one knew to pick her up!  Mary had to come to the rescue and save her!  Britney had to sit with her while she cried in the office!  My poor baby!  Thank heavens other ladies are around to pick up my slack!  Britney Spears is a WAY better Mom than me.  My stomach hurts!

My Mom and I went to Moses and had lunch with Cathy.  It was so much fun!  Cathy has been having issues with her spinal cord.  She was going to Spokane to the dr. for an apt. and as she walked out to the car she slipped on some ice.  The disk that pushed on her spinal cord pushed a little too hard and she was peralized, the ambulance had to come get her and she spent the day in the hospital.  They said she is lucky she wasn't peralized permantely and if it would have pushed a little harder it could have severed it.  (which you don't live through)  She also had a nice concussion.  So she is getting ready for surgery (THIRD surgery!!!!) where they go through her neck and fix the disk.  She has to take it easy and no more slipping and no car accidents the dr. said . .........
Poor Cathy!  But like all the women in my family (besides me) she is a trooper and acts like it's no big deal.  She can hardly turn her neck and sometimes her arm goes numb and she can't move it.
But our day out was fun!  We drove very carefully out to eat and then to Basken Robbins for ice cream.  We tried not to laugh a lot because it hurts her, but we didn't do a good job of that, we laughed a lot.

Avery and Joc were in the hot tub, they came in and I said rinse off in the bathtub.
They tried to go get some toys and I said NO we are not playing, we are rinsing fast and getting into bed.
Avery was holding a ball and looked at me and said "this is not a toy, it's a delicate instrument".  I let her have it for creativity and use of vocabulary.

My scissors were looking pretty gross, it took me a while to solve the mystery..... Jocelyn had been cutting her banana with them.  Yum.

Mother of the Year!

Sometimes I feel like a bad Mom, if I were Brittney Spears this picture would be in the papers.  I was talking to the kids about consequences and how it only takes a split second to make a choice that could change your life forever.  Like Austin throwing snowballs at the cars on the highway at my Mom's house on Christmas Eve.  I said "what if you hit a car and caused an accident" the family would get a phone call on Christmas Eve that Aunt so and so was heading to their house for dinner and died in a car accident because you decided to be stupid.  I then told them about things I have done in the past that could have turned out very bad!  Losing Austin in Walmart, letting the kids swim in the river when it wasn't a roped off area and any of them could have been swept away at any time, leaving Avery in the bathtub once and forgetting about her while I folded laundry.
We also talked about not judging others when a horrible thing happens to them, it only takes a second for something bad to happen.  We don't know what kind of a mother Brittney Spears is to her children, she might not be perfect but we have never walked in her shoes and don't know what kind of a life she has.  We haven't been perfect and are lucky we haven't had more accidents in our lives!
Then Austin said, we talked about things like this in our church class.  The story of Jesus in the Temple.  Could you imagine being Holy Mary and leaving Jesus!  They traveled for an entire day before realizing they had left him.

Mary:  Joseph, where is Jesus?
Joseph:  I thought he was with you?
Mary:  I thought he was with you?  WE LOST THE SAVIOR???!!!!
I couldn't stop laughing, thanks Austin for always making me feel better!

Austin moved out!  He has started the new quarter at Chiawana High School.  Im experiencing many emotions about this decision we made.
Sad:  It's weird to not have him home every night.
Happy:  Austin got all his favorite classes!
Sad:  He in in that HUGE high school with ALL those kids!
Happy:  Bishop Peterson let him into 1st period seminary even though it was full.
Sad:  He doesn't even call me at lunch or right after school.
Happy:  He is having SO much fun at the Iverson's
Sad:  He is having SO much fun at the Iverson's!  :)
Happy:  There are only 10-15 kids in each of his classes.
Sad:  I have to call him after school and BEG him to tell me about his day.
Happy:  All the kids have been SO nice to him.
Sad:  He REALLY likes not living with us!
Next week he stays with the Moon's.
Now that he is there and we are here our situation of not having a house is a little crazy.  We have no leads on a house (looking at many) and rentals are taken the second they come up!  Yikes.  All those who offered their basements for us to live in better not answer their phones!

The new cousin is here!  All the kids were SO excited when Tiff when to the hospital to have sweet baby girl Asher.  My kids were very impressed with all that hair!  Our kids don't come with that!
Eric is hard at work on his Duty to God.
